Flightful Birthday!

Hey everyone!

I'm here today with a birthday card I made on order. The only brief I had from the client was that the card be something that could be displayed in a shelf long after the birthday has passed. So my obvious choice was an easel card. But I didn't want to do a normal one. I used a double twisted easel card because the extra panels gave me space to put in little sentiments apart from the birthday message. Have included 2 tags for the family to put in their messages as well.

Lets have a look

A close up of the left panel

The image is a Micia stamp i got from lulupu. I stamped and coloured the blooms, used some glossy accents and stickles. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado stamped on PP with love letter dew drop.

I recently got some Bo Bunny stamps, on the back of which was a little tip that you scuff the stamp with a regular pink eraser for great inking. I've always had trouble inking fiskars and inkadinkado, so i thought "why not?" And boy, did it work!! my happy birthday came out crisp and clear! Im so happy and this has solved all my inking issues with acrylic stamps :) So everyone who's having trouble with inking, just scuff the top with any eraser, dust off the stamp and you're good to go!! :)

The butterfly is also an easel which you can see here. Got the idea from the easel card to begin with. Shall share a tute for it in my next post :)

A look at the left side

I used a spellbinders die to cut the window and then planted blooms in the sill.. :) i loved the cute lil effect its made :) some punch out butterflies for flights of fancy :) the sentiment is from kaiserkraft :)

Hope you liked them :)

All that glitters, isn't gold ;)

Hey everyone!

My current project took me longer than I expected because I just wasn't getting enough time to craft!

Anyway.. All said and done, I finally finished! Yay!

Two monthly challenges are ongoing at crafters corner and Itsy bitsy and I've made this project keeping in mind both of them :)

It's a favour bag with a matching tag :) I absolutely loved how it turned out!

The fairy is a HOTP stamp I bought from Priya's store :) I stamped and embossed it  in white on pink CS. Fussy cut, some stickles and all ready to shine ;)

The fence and windows are impression obsession dies. They're awesome. Cut cleanly and without a fuss!
I really didn't want the fence to be as such and so converted it into a balcony! :) the fairy stepping in to grant your wish! :)

Blooms are all handmade. They've been punched, sprayed with memento fireworks, distressed with stains and paints..

Coming to the tag

The sentiment is from hero arts and its rather apt don't you think? ;) it's stamped with a glue pad and sprinkled with fine glitter.

Urban grunge..

I'm here today with a card that is totally different from my usual style.. :) I like everything nice and neat. But like I said in my earlier post, I'm evolving as a crafter and I'm loving it :)

Black is a colour I usually use only for my stamping but today I decided to use it as my CS base.

Lets take a look.. :)

The bloom is handmade :) loved loved the chunky glitter I got from Itsy bitsy. Then used an argyle embossing folder and my distress paints (gold, silver, brass) to create a PP of sorts. Tore away the edges after sizing, and distressed with walnut stain/antique Linen inks. Rather liked the effect it created.. :)

A close up of the pretty flower :)

The stamp used on the side is from hero arts definitions watermarked and embossed in white. The sentiment is from hero arts all occasions stamped with memento rich cocoa.

Stamping galore!

Hey everyone

I'm back today with two cards made with one single stamp set :) and yes, about butterflies. Who doesn't love em eh?! ;)

Since starting my blog, I've discovered that there are oodles of techniques and creative ideas that I have in my head, but never used! I am so glad that I've begun my blog to showcase my crafty journey :)

Here are my cards..

Surprised? Don't be! They're both made from one stamp set! It's butterfly wishes from fiskars.

On the first card I decided to not use a sentiment and keep it all about the stamp.

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the image. The little brown Vine on the side is also made by stamping the leaf flourish with rich cocoa memento.

A closer look

I used rainbow sparkle embossing powder on the butterflies.. Here's a close up

For the second card I thought about keeping it simple, yet entirely different.

As you can see in the stamp image above, the butterfly originally had a little flourish below it. Being a clear stamp, I just cut it :) personally I thought it was looking very OTT..

Stamped, embossed the image on Kraft CS and used the sentiment on a little self-made tag :) I used the corner punch from the MS punch-around-the-page set and rounded the sides.
Loved the little toffee look it gave! Used some buttons and a mellow-yellow ribbon to finish it off :)

Hope you liked them! :)

Flutters..

My second post for the day! Wish everyday is as quick and creative as today was!

Made this card with another stencil. Yes, I'm in love with them for the present :) they're sooo versatile..

I stamped the stencil with versamark watermark, used my opaque white embossing powder and then distressed with spun sugar. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

A rainbow without a rainbow!

Hello all..

Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!! :)

I'm here with a card made with something new for me.. Stencils.. Bought them recently and was itching to use them. The current challenge at catchy challenges is about creating a background of rainbow colours without using an actual rainbow :) here's my take on it..

I created the background using my stencils and distress paints. Great new product. Loads of fun! :)
Using the stencil itself was super easy. Just used a bit of masking tape to keep it in place.
Supplies used
Distress paints-barn door, mowed lawn, seedless preserves, mustard seed, salty ocean, black soot(for the dark blue I mixed salty ocean with blacksoot)

Peacock feathers distress stain

Punches- MS monarch butterfly, MS 3-in-1 hydrangea, MS 3-in-1 butterfly, fiskars grass border

Dies- memory box lamp post, memory box nesting birds

CS and bling from my stash :)

Thanks for stopping by :) leave us some love :)
